Miami Beach Pride invites you to our FREE Family Picnic with fun for the whole family, including your fur babies!
Come enjoy multiple bounce houses, outdoor games, fun activities, face-painting and craft activities for all the family to enjoy. The Humane Society of Miami will be doing puppy adoptions from 11am - 2 pm. We will be providing 100 free kids meals (first come, first serve) and free water for everyone. Additional food and beverages will be available for sale at our Food Trucks.
SCHEDULE
10 am - 4 pm - Free Face Painting, Bounce Houses and outdoor games
11 am - 1 pm – Join us for precious photo moments with Pride’s costumed characters
11 am – 12 pm – Build and Play with Bricks 4Kidz – Ideal for kids of all abilities wanting to explore architecture, engineering and technology concepts using LEGO® bricks, Bricks 4Kidz will build on the universal popularity of LEGO® bricks to deliver high-quality educational play, that will develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills around a hands-on model build in sixty minutes! LEGO® bricks will be supplied. Age 5+ | limited capacity on a first come first seated basis
11 am – 2 pm – The Humane Society of Greater Miami present Adoption & Meet and Greet. Looking for a fur companion? Fully vetted and up to date on all medical needs/shots, meet some dogs seeking a furever home.
12:15 pm – 1:30 pm – Wish Boards - Led by talented local multi-media artist, Dinorah de Jesús Rodriguez Participants children and adults aged 10+ years are encouraged to discover the creative, expressive art of collage to make a “wish board” or “vision board”. Students will experiment with composition and balance incorporating texture, color, shape and pattern utilizing a wide range of found materials (images, text, stickers, decals, and more). Each participant will leave the workshop with their own unique Wish Board.
2:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Miami Beach Pride is delighted to partner for the first time with The Miami Children’s Museum to offer two drop-in workshops that will run simultaneously.
Thumbprint Portraits - inspired by the unique thumbprint artwork of Cheryl Sorg. The shapes and patterns found in a thumbprint are unique to each individual and do not change over time. Children and families under 10-years of age will be introduced to a variety of textures, including yarn, paper, markers, and text to create their own unique thumbprint to represent their emotions, identity, and inner SELF!
Friendship Bracelets - utilizing elastic strings and a variety of beads, children/teens will be encouraged to design and create their own Friendship Bracelet using unique patterns and/or words of affirmation to express who they are. When it’s complete, you can wear your Friendship Bracelet as a reminder to be proud of who you are or give it to a friend to help empower them. For children/teens and their families aged 10+ years
